I am too excited about adding the See.Her.Play collection that's exclusive to the Lady Schmintage store. While Kirsty (the brains and talent behind the amazing label) has always been working behind the scenes of the store - altering hem lines and generally shooshing up pieces - we're finally able to stock some of her fine items that she's put together from scratch. Coming soon!

Beautiful garbage

The concept of 'ones trash is anothers treasure' is a pretty widely accepted concept around the world, in my own personal life, and of course in store at Lady Schmintage. That's why when one of my really, really good looking models, Ash, and I stumbled across this site otherwise known as a 'dump', we were overwhelmed to say the least. While this might be home to vandalists, graffiti artists and squatters - Ash and I turned it into our very own playground for the day. Did we happen to take some shots for store listings while we were at it? You bet.

I saw, I liked

You'll come across something  from time to time that's amazing, only to realise that it's faulty. Fortunately for us,  we've got Kirsty from label See.Her.Play behind the scenes of Lady Schmintage. She'll be fixing some of our pieces up with those magic hands of hers, making sure you guys get the best of the best. Here's her latest range below - how lucky are we?

Anniversary

As of today, it's been three jam-packed weeks since Lady Schmintage kicked off. So far, It's been one heck of a ride, and as for what's to come - it's looking good. 

A huge thank you to everyone who has bought something & spread the word to their friends. It's because of you that I can feed my crazy second-hand shopping addiction.

My biggest thank yous  go to my sister Kerri, who never once doubted this crazy idea that I had brewing up in my head.

And also, my frockstar and best friend, Rhiahne. Thank you for being so damn good looking.

Round the block

Everything sold on Lady Schmintage has been pre-loved & holds a plenty of memories. Don't believe me? Look what I found in a second-hand bag I bought at the markets.  As 'gross' as some may think the concept of recycled fashion is, I find it so fascinating that an everyday girl just like you and I (only in another decade) has had memories in the very same piece you've grown to love. What was this $20 going to go towards? Did she love the piece just as much as you will? Most of us remember what we wore on certain memorable occasions - even if it was a fashion disaster ( I recall a double-denim mishap, mid 2004), and that's why it can sometimes be so hard to part ways. But rest assured that your clothes will find eventually find a loving home - unless you throw them in the trash.

We knew she wouldn't last for long. Everything about this blazer is so immaculate- from the vibrant colour, right down to the fine detailing.

I still remember the day Rhiahne stumbled across this. She couldn't even contain her excitement long enough and wait until the end of the day to show me - instead she took a picture via her phone and hardly did the piece justice. "It looks way better when you actually see it", she assured me. And boy, did she hit the nail on the head with that one.

It's going to be a tearful goodbye for this one - but Rhiahne and I couldn't be happier that the buyer is one of our oldest friends. Wear it well, girly!

Jitters.

I've been thinking up this baby for quite some time now. A love of thrifting, a hoarding mother and a reluctance to throw away clothes has brought me to the opening of 'Lady Schmintage' - a collection of pre-loved and thrifted clothes. I aim to bring you the best of the best, the clothes I simply cannot walk away from - and hopefully you can't either.

So far - shits been hectic. It's been around 30 hours since lift off, and we're sitting at around 115 likes. Here's some of the amazing items which have already been sold:
